What’s happening?
In efforts to improve the educational experience for our Manor Middle School (MMS) community, we are starting the process of establishing an 1882 partnership with a charter school operator. We currently have one application from a charter school that had previously submitted their application when the initial discussion regarding establishing an 1882 partnership for MMS began last year. If approved by our Board of Trustees, the partnership would begin in Fall 2025.
How will the partnership support scholar success?
The 1882 partnership approach is designed to ensure that we bring in the necessary resources, expertise, and support to help our school overcome these challenges and provide our scholars with the quality education they deserve. Through the partnership, we will also have the opportunity to implement innovative strategies and practices that are tailored to the unique needs of our scholars and community. The partnership also comes with increased funding for the state to help our students at Manor Middle School.

Timeline
Applicants will be reviewed by the Board of Trustees for approval. Once an applicant is approved, the district will work towards approving an agreement. From there, district and campus leadership would collaborate with the approved charter school operator to ensure that our scholars, staff, and community would continue to thrive in the welcoming environment they know while working to meet our ultimate goal, which is to improve student achievement.
